Description

Laminex has been creating great interior spaces for Australians for more than 90 years. As one of Australia's leading design and manufacturing businesses, our success has been built on innovation, trusted customer partnerships and a commitment to quality.

We're looking for an Operations Support Leader to join our Ballarat Componentry team and play a key role in the day-to-day leadership and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operation. This role supports three production teams and is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, performance, and productivity targets are achieved while developing the capability of the team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you'll be the operational heartbeat of the site, leading from the front, supporting production teams, troubleshooting issues, improving processes, and ensuring the operation delivers on its targets.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll balance immediate operational priorities with longer-term improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support daily manufacturing operations across multiple production teams.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all site safety standards.
  • Monitor production performance, quality, uptime, downtime, and operational efficiency.
  • Investigate production variances and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop production employees and leaders.
  • Support the introduction, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and processes.
  • What We're Looking For
  • We're open to experienced manufacturing leaders from a range of industries. While experience in cabinetmaking, shopfitting, joinery, or building products is highly regarded, we're equally interested in talented leaders from other manufacturing environments who bring strong people leadership capability and a willingness to learn.

You'll bring:
  • Experience leading teams in a manufacturing, production, logistics, or industrial environment.
  • Proven people leadership skills and confidence managing performance and operational priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • The ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • The ability to influence, coach, and engage a broad range of stakeholders.

Why Join Us?
In this role, you’ll lead a critical manufacturing operation with genuine influence on site performance, while joining a supportive leadership team that values initiative, continuous improvement, and fresh thinking. You’ll be part of a business that invests in safety, quality, and operational excellence, with the opportunity to develop your career within one of Australasia’s leading manufacturing organisations. It’s a collaborative culture where people are encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership, and drive positive change.

Working Arrangements
  • Monday to Friday on site
  • Standard hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm with some flexibility around start times
  • Salaried position

If you're an operational leader who enjoys the challenge of leading people, improving performance, and making a tangible impact every day, we'd love to hear from you.
