We're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Auckland finance team based in Penrose. This is an opportunity to step into a varied role where you'll combine technical accounting expertise with commercial insight, helping drive financial performance across a leading manufacturing business.

About the role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting while supporting strategic business decisions. You'll own a broad portfolio across financial reporting, balance sheet governance, fixed assets, statutory compliance and continuous improvement, while partnering with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Sales and Supply Chain. Main responsibilities include:

Delivering accurate month-end reporting, journals and financial analysis.
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
Managing fixed assets, depreciation, leases and capital expenditure reporting.
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and Group reporting requirements.
Assisting with GST, FBT, statutory reporting and audit activities.
Monitoring customer rebates and accruals.
Driving process improvements and help optimise finance systems and reporting.
Building strong relationships across the business, providing trusted financial support and advice.

About you

You'll be a proactive, detail-focused accountant, with a sense of ownership, who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and partnering with stakeholders across the business. You'll also bring:

CA, CPA or equivalent qualification (or working towards it).
4+ years' financial accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of month-end reporting, reconciliations and financial controls.
Experience preparing statutory and management reporting.
Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems (SAP experience is highly regarded).
A collaborative approach with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to simplify and improve finance processes.
Experience within manufacturing, industrial or FMCG environments, along with exposure to IFRS, HFM, fixed assets, inventory or audit, will be highly regarded.
