Description

PlaceMakers is looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead our Hamilton Frame & Truss Manufacturing Operation.

Manufacturing excellence is a key focus for our business. We're looking for a proven manufacturing leader who can build a safe, disciplined and high performing operation that delivers for our customers every day.

Reporting to the Regional Manufacturing Manager, you'll own site performance across safety, people, quality, delivery, productivity and cost. You'll know your operation and your numbers, understand what's driving performance and take action when results are off track.

The Role:

You'll lead the day-to-day operation and development of the Hamilton Site, with a strong focus on three areas:
  • Safety Leadership - Safety comes first. You'll be present, manage risks and build a culture where people speak up, and stop work when it isn't safe.
  • Manufacturing Excellence - You'll lead and embed our SBU approach to our operation. Create clear targets, visibility, accountability and continuous improvement. Engage your teams to solve problems and improve performance
  • Knowing your Numbers - You'll have a strong grip on production, labour, productivity, quality, downtime, delivery and financial performance
Your Responsibilities:
  • Safety leading through effective risk management, visibility and operational discipline
  • Leading, coaching and developing a capable and accountable manufacturing team
  • Driving Excellence across safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost 
  • Owning the production plan and aligning people, equipment and resources to meet customer demand
  • Maximise efficiency by identifying gaps, driving accountability and maintaining discipline
  • Building strong relationships across the business and contributing to the wider frame & truss strategy
About you:
  • Strong Manufacturing or production leadership experience
  • A proven track record of delivering production targets and improving plant performance
  • Strong safety leadership in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Confidence using operational KPI's and financial measures to identify gaps and drive action
  • Experience with SBU, daily management or similar manufacturing operating systems
  • A practical, accountable leadership style
